Calgary Housing Stats - June 2019

Calgary continues to be in a buyer’s market.

In June 2019, the total number os sales in Calgary was 1780, down 6.07% from the previous June. The Median sales price of $420,000 is down 3.23% from June 2018. New listings totalled 3,135, down from the previous month, while total inventory was 7,514, down 14.6% from the previous year.

As the number of new listings continues to decline, oversupply has eased, slowing the decline in prices.

Chief economist for CREB®, Ann-Marie Lurie, had this to say. “So far, the housing market has generally behaved as expected this year. Sales activity remains just below last year’s levels, prices have eased and supply is starting to adjust to the lower level of sales. However, it is mostly product priced under $500,000 that is trending towards more balanced conditions.”
